"Basil Extra Virgin Olive Oil"

This oil is produced by crushing fresh Vasanicola basil from Abruzzo into extra virgin olive oil.

It is unfiltered and contains no additives or artificial flavourings.

Its flavour is intensely Mediterranean and particularly suited to tomato based pasta sauces.

Try it drizzled over with some chopped cherry tomatoes, a little red onion and served over griddled bread.

The Masciantonio family have a long history with olive oil, having worked in olive mills since the beginning of the 18th century.
Paolo Masciantonio bought the land in the Abruzzo countryside in 1924 and has been making oil in 1948 from their 4000 olive trees (Gentile di Chieti and Intosso varieties)
Now run by the third generation of the same family, using modern technology and a lifetime's experience
The olives are picked, the leaves removed and the olives washed. They are then crushed and pressed in the granite mill before being passed through organic filters.
