We are very pleased to announce that our Balsamic Vinegar from Amerigo has been awarded the top award of ‘Five Stars’ by ITALIA! magazine

Their exact words were…….

“The Amerigo brand is one of quality, and certainly the expectations weren’t disappointed in this instance. This rich vinegar has the medium-to-light viscosity of a young balsamic vinegar, but the sweet and tangy flavour is deep and delicious. Described as “fresh and fruity” by the panel, there’s more than a hint of full cream sherry in the nose. It is very smooth without the acid aftershock of some of the vinegars here. This would make a wonderful marinade and is perfect for drizzling over gutsy Parmesan shavings. Also enjoy the simple pleasure of dipping a corner of fresh crusty  into the luscious burnt umber condiment for a basic appetiser with olives. The sweet aftertaste lingers on the palate and makes you want to come back for more – make sure you do!”

Strawberry & Acacia Honey

We are very pleased to announce that our Strawberry and Acacia Honey was awarded four stars in last month’s edition of ITALIA magazine.

Here is what they had to say…..

While many of the honeys on test here come purely from one plant, this offering from Just So Italian has a unique edge – the addition of strawberries to the acacia honey.

While this provides an interesting colour as the five per cent strawberry gives the runny honey a slightly reddish hue, it also adds to the flavour.

The first thing you taste is strawberry, and only a few seconds later does the honey taste come through.

One taster commented that this “added another level of sweetness to the acacia, complementing each other perfectly.”

From Italia Magazine November 2008…..

The nice people at Italia magazine helped us to announce our arrival on the online Italian deli scene. There may not be many of us but we are all keen to create a good impression.

We have given Danilo (front, right) the job of finding food and drink from Italy that will make you “laugh out loud with pleasure”! A tall order but he said he’ll try his best.

Alison (centre, right) is competing with him for customer favour. She makes all our biscuits by hand in our kitchen in Market Harborough. We think all her creations are truly out of this world.

Alex (centre, left) controls all our finances and stops us spending all our time in Italy indulging our passion for wonderful Italian food and drink.

Martin (front, left) is Head of Sales and after spending 15 years in the high fashion clothing business is finding life in Italian food and drink a very welcome change.

Me, I’m Tony (at the back), I am in charge of marketing and take an active role in all of our tasting sessions!
