Salone Del Gusto 2010

Posted in | News

Once again The Lingotto Exhibition Centre in Turin has opened its doors to the Salone Del Gusto, bringing together the cream of artisan food producers from Italy and beyond. This fascinating exhibition is organised by the Slow Food Movement, founded by Carlo Petrini in 1986 as a reaction to the first Macdonalds opening in Rome. The movement now has over 100,000 members spread over 153 countries.
Porchetta

This year, Porchetta was all the rage, with artisan butchers stuffing whole boned pigs with garlic, rosemary, fennel and other delights and slowly roasting them until succulent and aromatic. This was then sliced and served with chunks of fresh bread.

Panettone 2010 now in stock

Posted in | News

Just So ITALIAN

As well as the usual Panettone Classico, this year we have quite a few different speciality cakes for you to consider.

We have panettone from Piemonte; they are notable for its hazelnut and almond crust. We have chocolate pannetone, gianduja panettone and even an alcoholic Zabaglione panettone (pictured).

Or as an alternative why not go for a Pandoro or maybe the Tuscan cakes – Panforte & Pampepato.
